New Hope is a small community located approximately 5 miles southeast of Columbus, MS. Columbus is located about 30 miles east of Starkville, MS ("Home of the MSU Bulldogs") and 45 miles west of Tuscaloosa, AL ("Home of the UA Tide").
New Hope School has been in existence since 1923. At it's inception, the school was made up of grades 1-12 and was a combination of five smaller schools. In 1923, the school consisted of 10 classrooms, library, cafeteria, principal's office, and eight faculty members. Since its beginning, New Hope School has made at least four additions to its original campus.
At this time, the New Hope campus houses three schools in five seperate buildings. We have a total of 86 certified faculty members in the elementary school, 42 in the middle school, and 45 in the high school. The total current enrollment is approximately 3300 students.
