Constitution and By-Laws of the
New Hope Diamond Club

Article I.  NAME
The name of this organization will be "New Hope Diamond Club"

Article II.  PURPOSE
It shall be the purpose of this organization to support New Hope High School in its endeavor to
provide opportunities for students to participate in high school baseball by working with and
through the coaches to assist in seeing that the needs are met in the areas of equipment, travel,
awards, facilities, and booster support.

Article III.  MEMBERSHIP AND DUES
Section 1.  Membership in the Diamond Club shall not be denied interested to any interested
person.  Any resident of Lowndes County, City of Columbus, including any faculty member, shall
be elligible for membership.  All baseball coaches shall become non-voting members and exempt
from paying dues.
Section 2.  The annual dues shall be $15/person.
Section 3.  Membership in the Diamond Club provides the opportunity for a reserved seat.  
Reserved seating is assigned by drawing with the senior class parents having the first option and
progressing down by class level.  Fans without students in the program will also be included in the
drawing process.
Section 4.  Members will be notified in December each year that their dues are due and payable by
the date of the first parent meeting in January.
Section 5.  Any membership in the New Hope Diamond Club may be revoked for just cause by a
majority vote of the Executive Board.
Section 6. All players will be given the opportunity to raise money to help offset baseball expenses.
These fundraisers are designed to help get what the team needs and if a player leaves the team for
any reason there will be no credit given to that player.

ARTICLE IV.  OFFICERS
Section 1.  The officers of the club shall be:  President:  Senior Class representative; 1st
Vice-President:  Junior Class Representative; 2nd Vice-President:  Other Representative;
Treasurer, Secretary.  These 4 officers and a representative of each class not represented by the
above shall comprise the Executive Board.
Section 2.  At-large members will be determined by drawing each year at the second parent
meeting normally held in January.  The at-large members will include a minimum of 1 representative
from each class and a maximum of 3.
Section 3.  Vacancies in the Executive Board shall be filled by election by the remaining members
of the Executive Board.
Section 4.  Any officer or club member must resign their position if they miss 2/3rds of the total
annual meetings.

ARTICLE V.  DUTIES OF THE OFFICERS
Section 1.  President - The President shall be the executive officer of the organization, shall preside
at all general, special, and board meetings of the club.  The President will ensure that each meeting
is conducted according to the "Roberts Rules of Order".  The President shall exercise and perform
all the powers and duties usual and incidental to the office of the President.
Section 2.  1st Vice-President - The 1st Vice-President shall act as President and perform all
duties of the President during the President's absence.
Section 3.  2nd Vice-President - The 2nd Vice-President shall act as President and perform all
duties of the President during the President's or 1st Vice-President's absence.
Section 4.  The Secretary shall be the custodian of the records of the club and shall take and
transcribe minutes of all meetings.  The Secretary shall keep the official list of members including
contact information.  The Secretary shall act in close harmony with all officers of the club.
Section 5.  The Treasurer shall keep an accurate record of all funds and financial transactions.  The
Treasurer will oversee the disbursement of monies as agreed upon by the club.  All transactions by
check will require the signatures of the Treasurer and the Head Coach.  The Treasurer shall make a
report as to the financial status of the club at each regular meeting.  The financial records shall be
reviewed annually by the Executive Board.
Section 6.  Board Members shall assist in the overall operation of the club.  The Board Members
shall conduct business and vote as needed to transact club responsibilities.   The Board shall work
with the officers for the betterment of the players and the overall program.

ARTICLE VI.  DUTIES OF THE EXECUTIVE BOARD
The Executive Board shall meet as needed to plan and implement programs and services that are
deemed necessary to meet the objectives of the New Hope Baseball Program.  The Board will
meet before normal Board meetings as necessary to prepare recommendations for Board
consideration and action.  It will be the responsibility of the Board to see that financial transactions
are handled in the best interest of the New Hope Baseball Program.

ARTICLE VII.  MEETINGS
Section 1.  The New Hope Diamond Club shall meet at 7:30 every second Wednesday of the
month during the regular season and on an as needed basis during the remainder of the year.
Section 2.  The Executive Board will meet on an as needed basis prior to the regular meeting as
deemed necessary by the President.
Section 3.  Special meetings shall be called at the discretion of the President.

ARTICLE VIII.  QUORUM
A majority of the members of the Executive Board shall constitute a quorum.

ARTICLE IX.  AMENDMENTS
These by-laws may be amended at any regular meeting by  a two-thirds vote of the members
present.
